SACC CRN I (1999-2005)

An International Consortium for the Study of Global and Climate Change in the South Atlantic

Descrição: The SACC Consortium was idealized as a mean to coordinate and enhance human and institutional resources in the South American participating countries, in order to advance the understanding of the coupled effects of global change and climate variability on the oceanic, atmospheric and terrestrial ecosystems of the Western South Atlantic region. In its first phase, from 1999 to 2005, SACC has promoted a series of activities, which lead to the development of a number of observational and modeling studies of oceanic and atmospheric processes relevant to climate change in the WSA region. These studies were part of projects funded or to be funded by other agencies from the participating countries. In 2006, SACC has submitted a new Project to the IAI CRN2 Program which has been funded, assuring the continuation of SACC untill 2011..
